The London Palaeography Teachers’ Group exists to promote the study of palaeography. It brings together people who teach and study palaeography, in London, the UK and world-wide. The group’s members participate in the annual London International Palaeography Summer School, where they teach courses on Arabic, Greek, Latin and vernacular palaeography, especially English German and Italian.
London boasts rich resources for the study of palaeography and a long history of teaching skills for the study of manuscripts. The London Palaeography Teachers’ Group is closely associated with three important resources for the teaching and study of palaeography:
- The London Medieval Manuscripts Seminar
- The London International Palaeography Summer School
- The Palaeography Room of Senate House Library (now Special Collections)
This website brings together information about the study of palaeography at the University of London and further afield, including courses, lectures, meetings, exhibitions and events relating to palaeography, codicology and diplomatic.
